We're delighted to be able to announce our performance groups for the 2018 Yorkshire Schools Dance Festival. You can see the full list and performance days below and on the Festival homepage - www.yorkshireschoolsdancefestival.co.uk
This is the first year that the event has been staged over two weekends. We've DOUBLED the number of schools and groups taking part - over 1200 children and young people from 60 schools and groups across the region. We'd like to thank all the coordinators working tirelessly to make these special opportunities available to their pupils.
As well as being a fantastic event, YSDF is about supporting, developing and promoting dance for children and young people. Jessica Dunn, who has coordinated Dunnington Primary School's involvement in the event for the past two years says "YSDF has had a really positive impact across the whole school. Dance club numbers have risen enormously since the first dance festival we attended and we now have a dance club running in some form all year round giving regular performances to pupils and parents."
Huntington Primary Academy are the only school to have performed in all 7 festivals (thank you Alison!) and we're always pleased to see so many groups returning every year. There are 21 schools and groups taking part for the first time in 2018:
