Volunteer at YSDF21 and be a part of something special!

Updated: Oct 15, 2021

Would you be interested in volunteering at the 2021 Yorkshire Schools Dance Festival?

We're looking for volunteers to help out at the Yorkshire Schools Dance Festival across the weekends of the 13th/14th and 20th/21st November at Central Hall, University of York.

Around 1200 dancers from 56 schools/groups will perform across the four days. A dedicated event team runs the festival but we're always keen to work with committed and enthusiastic volunteers to help us make the event as safe and enjoyable as possible for everyone. You'll need to be available between 11am and 7pm (there'll be breaks). You can volunteer for as many days as you're able to commit to - from just one day to both weekends. If you want to get a feel for the event, watch the 2019 Yorkshire Schools Dance Festival film below.

Your roles may include:

  • Collecting/scanning tickets

  • Sitting next to emergency exits in the auditorium during the performance

  • Selling programmes and assisting with refreshments

  • Working with a member of the event team to assist the movement of groups from the rehearsal spaces to the auditorium before and during the event.

What we won’t ask you to do

  • Place you in any situation that may place you or others at risk.

  • Ask you to take sole responsibility for the safety of children or audience members

You’ll need to be over 18. Insurance will be in place to cover you in the event of any accident or injury. You will be given a briefing before the audience arrive to ensure you completely understand what is required of you.

Reasonable travel costs can be covered.

Interested? If so complete the Volunteer Registration form and we'll be in touch!

It's going to be amazing!
