72 children from 3 York primary schools have had their involvement in the Yorkshire Schools Dance Festival recognised through a national qualification programme.
Pupils from St Oswald's, St Lawrence's and Scarcroft Primary Schools achieved an Arts Award Discover Certificate by completing an arts log to mark their involvement in the Festival. The log recorded: 1. taking part in an arts activity, 2. finding out about an artist, 3. sharing what they learnt and enjoyed with other people.
The Trinity College London certificates were handed out in assemblies at all three schools. A well deserved opportunity to share pride and achievement.
The opportunity to achieve the Arts Award Discover level was made possible through an extension to the 2019 Festival, 'Engage & Inspire'. The project was funded by Arts Council England and with the support of a host of partners. Watch our film to see what was on offer.
