Funding, Support & Resources

Use you PE &  Sport Premium to fund participation

Schools have used the Premium to fund involvement in YSDF to:

  • develop dance activities already on offer

  • Raise the profile of dance across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement

  • increase confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching dance

  • broader experience of a range of dance activities offered to all pupils

  • provide staff with professional development, mentoring, training and resources to help them teach PE and sport more effectively

  • engage dance artists to work with teachers to enhance or extend current opportunities

  • introduce new sports, dance or other activities to encourage more pupils to take up sport and physical activities

  • support and involve the least active children by providing targeted activities

  • enter or run more dance events/sport competitions

  • encourage pupils to take on leadership or volunteer roles that support dance and physical activity within the school

Most schools will be in receipt of double the amount from 2018/19

Would you like the support of a dance professional?

We can provide you with workshop leaders and artists

Some schools opt to use dance professionals to run extra-curricular dance clubs whilst others enjoy the opportunity to have a visiting workshop at the development and/or refinement stages.
