Schools from across East Riding and Hull Invited to take part

DSC_1097.jpeg

2022 will see the very first Yorkshire Schools Dance Festival at Bridlington Spa and we'd love your school to be a part of a very special midsummer event.

The Yorkshire Schools Dance Festival isn't a competition - it's an opportunity to celebrate dance in schools - whether it's within the curriculum or delivered as an extra-curricular activity.

We work with nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools and colleges/FE providers. It's all about promoting progression.

You'll create a performance in response to our 2022 theme, 'Summer Time!'. The content and shape of the performance is entirely up to you. The performance should be no more than 5 minutes long and can involve as many performers as you like - perhaps a class/year group, an extra-curricular dance club or examination group.

ALL ages, ALL styles and ALL abilities welcomed!

THE FESTIVAL SCHEDULE

1PM ARRIVAL

Between 1.00pm and 5.30pm your group will have the opportunity to take part in a workshop delivered by dance artists, watch a dance performance by a professional company and have a technical/dress rehearsal in the auditorium. There'll also be some free time for food and perhaps a walk along the beach (weather permitting). At 6pm we'll gather together for a group warm-up.

7PM PERFORMANCE

The Festival performance will see all participating schools perform to an audience of family and friends. Tickets will be priced at £7 (adult) and £6 (child under 16) and be available via the Bridlington Spa box office.
